BrickJournal: LEGO Boba Fett Video

Here's Facebook video link to an interview with Simon Macdonald (SIMAFOL on Flickr) done by Joe Meno back at spring's Megacon.  It's about 14 minutes long with lots of detail on how he created the costume.  This is his second costume (first one being LEGO Darth Vader).  He was currently working on LEGO steam punk for this year's DragonCon.

I don't know if you'll need a Facebook account to view the video link... If you do, leave me feedback.

LEGO Family

Family
Family,

The LEGO family statues at the Orlando LEGO Imagination Center has been moved from it's previous location to the far edge of the store, nearest the World of Disney store... I think this was to better help the flow of traffic -- there's always a constant flow of people around these statues, taking pictures of family members along side of LEGO family. The dogs are also a source of wonder in their life-like detail, that seem to fascinate anyone who has never seen them.

If you didn't know this, in each round window at the LIC is a 2-D scene of some popular cities from around the world -- Hong Kong, New York City, London, Paris, Moscow, etc. In each window, there's a miniland scale version of the LEGO family in each window, doing some wacky things. Look for them during your next trip to the Orlando LEGO Imagination Center.

Cars Duplo?

Um... found this on 1000steine.de, who in turn found it on Brickshelf. They look very cool!

...But is it Megablocks?

Just a few words on Joe Meno's Toy Story Flickr photostream -- WOW! Fantastic! Amazing! You can view all of his photos from Day 1 in this set.

Now pick up your jaw and dream of Toy Story LEGO until January 2010.

Bionicle Light up Sword

I had a Bionicle light up sword that didn't work... batteries died on it I assume. Decided to take it apart and see what kind of batteries it took -- 3 x LR41's for those who really wanted to know. There's a lot of components that went into it... I'm thinking of other applications for the LED + batteries box... wondering if could be put into a different switching mechanism...

LEGO's Lobby

Just surfing Flickr tonight and stumbled upon this photo of LEGO's lobby... From what I understand, the 3 reddish-orange flower looking balls are LEGO chandeliers. Love the larger than life minifigs on the window (there's another picture in ford302_91's Legoland set of the front of the building and the lobby). And I love the idea of having LEGO in the waiting room.

Crazy, Stupid...

Just a quick update... If you subscribed the the Eurobricks RSS feed (through BrickBuildr) it should be working again... I had made a change awhile back to the .htaccess file to only allow Feedburner to access the feed directly, but I'm guessing it didn't allow Feedburner through, so it redirected to itself... creating a crazy feedback loop.  I feel stupid now.  *sigh*

Anyway, I got tired of having no RSS feed for Eurobricks, so I wrote one.  If it doesn't update, or you have any problems with it, let me know.
