Picked this up from Bill Ward's blog, Brickpile - Why Does LEGO Ignore Girls?
I think Emily is being coached a little (maybe by her professional blogger father), but her points are valid... It's ashame that the LEGO Universe cover fails a variation on the Bechdel test.

Nah, coached... really was it that obvious? I'm a girl. I'm not offended by the packaging. LEGO knows their audience for a video game. Go into any Game store on weekend and count the number of girls inside.
I always have girls in my LEGO classes and quite frankly, they don't need LEGO to dumb down the product and make it girlie to get them to play with it.
Why aren't these dads in an uproar that Hot Wheels isn't appealing enough to girls? Or that Barbies are not appealing enough to boys? Leave kids alone.

The red character in LEGO Universe is clearly a girl, don't you think?
